The Cap de Creus lighthouse has recently been displaying its new cupola. The work was put out to tender by the port of Barcelona. The Almarin company was awarded the contract, they carried out the design, supply and installation of the cupola.
The new visitable lamp replaces the old one which dated from 1960. That one was damaged and had an advanced state of corrosion in its iron structure.
During the duration of the works in October, the lighthouse operated with the secondary lamp, temporarily reducing its range.
