Every year the first weekend of June is celebrated in the town of Terrades with a thematic exhibition dedicated to the much appreciated sweet fruit: the cherry.
Village streets are filled with people to taste this delicious cherry variety grown in the Empordà, a very appreciated fruit of extraordinary quality.
Besides the cherry selling on the street, there are children’s events, the traditional meeting for the exchange of cava bottle caps, Sardana and stalls with local handicrafts.
During May and June there is also the ‘Remena’m la cirera’ (Touch my cherry) a gastronomic festival which allows diners to taste meals dedicated to this fruit in several Empordà restaurants.
