L’Escala received, on the 14th March, the accreditation of the Government to include the Salt Festival in the catalogue, Patrimoni Festiu de Catalunya. As a result of this accreditation various events were held as the official document was delivered by the Director General of Archives, Libraries, Museums and Heritage, Joan Pluma. There was also the presentation of a new issue of the magazine, El Fil de la Memòria, (The thread of memory) dedicated especially to the Salt Festival.
Subsequently, an expert in cultural heritage from UNESCO, Luis Garcia, led a conference entitled “El patrimoni immaterial, un valor a alça” (“The intangible heritage, a rising value.” ) The conclusion of the event at the Museum of Anchovy and Salt was a reading of poems dedicated to the Festa de la Sal that over time have been created by authors and artists like Enric Casasses, Núria Esponellà, Ramon Manent, Josep Tero, Anna Almazan …..
This was followed by a lunch at the Sala Poliavent with over 300 attendees with the participation of musicians and singers from The Salt Festival and a dance took place in memory of Oriol Canals and Les Granotes de la bassa, with the international cobla orchestra Els Montgrons.
